Cherry Poppin' Post

This being my inaugaral post, I figured the title would be both appropriate and vulgar enough to catch my readers' eyes. Not that I'll have any of those ( readers that is), but I digress. That said, this is my first official "blog" post.

You know, it's funny, I really never understood the need for these sorts of sites - and I still don't. If they do, in fact, serve any purpose at all, it seems that purpose may be solely to serve the ego-centric cravings of so many would-be artist types. Writers who cannot string a decent set of words together to save their lives, painters whose efforts are comparable to my 3 yr old on a drunken bender and film makers who couldn't get their own mothers to watch a free screening of their latest cinematic achievement.

So, it actually sounds like the perfect little cob-webbed corner of the cyberverse for me. At last, a room of my own! No, I don't count MySpace. Everybody and their mommy has either gone to Facebook or Twitter and, sadly, I can't make heads or tails of either one of those fuckin' things. The only people that seem to still be using MySpace are me and some weird motherfucker from Ohio who won't stop trying to "friend" me...

The title of my blog is Morphosis. For those of you not possessing at least a rudimentary knowledge of Latin, Greek and word etymology, the word Morphosis is quite adequately summed up by a single word: change. If you decide to be a real smart ass and look it up(kudos to you, by the way...for getting off your ass and actually doing something to exercise your brain) you'll see that it's specific definition goes alot more like this: "The manner in which an organism or any of its parts changes form or undergoes development."

That last sentence defines, quite nicely, the idea that led me to starting this blog, so...there you go. Morphosis. Most of you Joe-blows should get "it" with that explanation. If not, sorry, I can't dumb it down any more than that.
In short, I will keep you abreast of developments relating to my art: painting & sculpting and , quite rarely, a little bit of the written word here and there.

Not being one to stand on ceremony, I officially welcome you, one and all to the blog that will feature the work of both Mike Suarez and the artist known as Atrox. I hope you will enjoy and feel free to contact or comment on anything you like, dislike or just plain hate.
And, remember...it's a Wonderfull Life....:)
